About Equine Empowerment
Equine Empowerment was founded as a non-profit in 2017 with the mission to serve people Ouray County and surrounding counties with opportunities for equine assisted activities and therapies.
LOCATION: We are located at the Second Chance Animal Shelter's arena in Ridgway, CO. Through our collaboration with Second Chance our clients can experience the power of the horse in the arena and also have the opportunity to learn from other animals at the shelter.
EXCELLENCE: We strive for excellence in our field by maintaining high standards in the field of Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT). We follow Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) standards and continuing professional education. This includes safety utilizing horses and maintaining a safe facility.
BOARD MEMBERS: Equine Empowerment is made up of a team of dedicated board members who believe in the mission of Equine Empowerment. They are parents, supporters, professionals and active community members. Our board members are the cornerstone of this program.
